I’ve decided to post more regularly because people often ask me how the tiny house is going. So far so good. I met with the architect and am using the financial spreadsheet his company put together when they designed and built the minihome. It’s surprising to see how quickly a project like this can get into the $100,000 range. I should have all my expenses down on paper within the next few days and will have a better idea when we can start the next steps of getting a trailer and getting my idea down onto a plan I can build from for the spring. I’ve started reading a book: Reusing the resource – Adventures in Ecological Wastewater Recycling by Carol Steinfeld and David Del Porto. It is giving me a better idea of how I’m going to be collecting my own water and what I’ll do with it after. I’ve been in contact with one of the authors and I’m going to get a quote to see if I can get a water system designed for the tinyhome. Some things I know I can do myself and with the support of others, and some things I know I’ll have to hire someone to help me with. I’ll provide an update next week to let you know how it goes.
